ELLENDALE PARADE
The Ellendale parade was Saturday July 19th..We had 3 cars attend.
Dana and Sylvia Christianson- Bob Lee and Jim and Marilyn George. We
had a great time. The streets of Ellendale were lined with parade enthusiasts.
Bob was the only one who remembered to bring candy --but we were not
booed out of town.
June 12th, Cruise to Geneva
Saturday June 12th was a sunny (but windy) day for a Corvette cruise!
Don & Julie, Ron & Doris, Keith & Jeanne, Dennis & Colleen,
Chuck & Mary and Jim left Taco Johns on a Drive n Dine
cruise. Don & Julie led the group for an hour cruise and then ended
at Georges of Geneva. In Geneva, Jim & Lez caught up with
the group. Once again, the food was awesome (BBQ Ribs were great!).After
the meal, Steve Dittrich (Georges owner and one of our sponsors)
joined us outside to take pictures.
Enjoyable time by all!!!
A few Corvette members managed to get in a couple fun drives in June.
In Minnesota you have to take advantage of any somewhat decent weather
that you get!
Tuesday, June 24th. Al & Pam Deml, Paul & Patti H, Bob Lee
and Ron Fuller enjoyed a drive and dinner at Club 57 in Waseca. There
was quite a big crowd with lots of nice cars! Chuck and Mary Brenner
also joined us. The weather was great and Al led us on the Snake trail
route back to Owatonna.
Friday, June 27th threatened us with some clouds but we lucked out
and had a great round- about drive to Geneva Bar and Grill. Jim &
Marilyn George, Al & Pam Deml and Paul & Patti H took on the
clouds for that trip. The rain held off and the weather cooperated for
a very nice top down cruise. Good food and company but no luck on the
pull tabs this time!
June 21st, BACK TO THE 50s CAR SHOW
We had a fun time going to the Back to the 50's on June 21. We had
Al and Pam Deml join us for the ride up and we met Dave La Canne and
Bernie with Linda and Connor. They drove the Mustang. There were over
11,000 cars there and it was fun to walk the streets and see the colors,
old styles, and interesting modifications made to some of them. The
food was great and the weather could not have been more perfect. It
was a wonderful, relaxing day.

JUNE 20th Medford Parade.
What a GREAT evening for a parade. This was our 4th year participating
in the Medford parade, and the crowds get bigger every year.
It is unbelievable how much candy is thrown out to the crowd and the
kids, big and little beg for more.
This year, we had 8 members drive in the parade and a new perspective
member joined us.
We hope to see Clayton at our next outing and we hope he will be joining
our club.
A special thanks to our banner carriers, they did a super job!!!
After the parade Paul and Patti lead us on a scenic drive back to their
home, where we enjoyed sloppy joes, snacks and GREAT desserts, sitting
around the bonfire.
Thanks Patti and Paul for hosting a fun evening.
Young Life Cake Auction -
Saturday April 12 was the 30th Annual Young Life Cake Auction held
this year at the Owatonna High School gym.
It was previously voted that we would donate up to $200 in merchandise
including the cake. Donny & Julie Buskovick & Ron Fuller were
the committee members.
Our Auction number was 78 and our donation consisted
of 1/10 Scale C6 Remote Control Racing Corvette, Car Detailing Care
Pack, Corvette Jacket,
Hooded Sweatshirt, T-shirt, 2 hats and 1/43 Scale C5-R Action 2001
Race Version model (Dale Earnhardt Sr & Jr Race Team).
Our donation bought in a bid of $325 and went to a Bob Anderson
Congratulations
Bob!!!
The goal for Young Life this year was $70,000. The auction raised
a bit shy of that at $56,000
that is up $3000 from last year.
This auction is one of Young Lifes most important fundraising
events of the year. There are no real organizations in Owatonna that
support Young Lifes staff and camp trips.
The money raised goes towards its operating costs and programs.
Thank-you for voting in this event
it is a much worthwhile program
for the youth of Owatonna!!!
